ALUS Canada is a national not-for-profit organization that supports the delivery of the ALUS program across the country. ALUS was originally an acronym for “Alternative Land Use Services,” reflecting the concept that farmers and ranchers can use their land in an alternative way to produce ecosystem services that benefit Canadians.
Clean Energy Canada
Clean Energy Canada works to accelerate our nation’s transition to clean and renewable energy systems by telling the story of the global shift to clean and low-carbon energy sources. They conduct original research, host dialogues and aim to inspire and inform policy leadership.
Ecology Ottawa
Ecology Ottawa is a not-for-profit, grassroots and volunteer-driven organization. We believe that Ottawa residents are concerned about issues such as climate change, pollution and waste, and that they want sustainable communities where clean energy, air, and water, public transit, recycling, and green space protection take priority. We provide residents with the information and tools they need to understand local environmental issues and promote environmental leadership at city hall.
Green Living Enterprises
Since 1999, Green Living has been leaders in corporate social responsibility and environmental issues—they know the landscape, the players and what works, boasting an Advisory Board comprised of some of Canada’s leading thinkers and motivators on urban and environmental issues. They also produce our annual Green Living Show—the largest green consumer show in Canada—putting them face-to-face with conscientious consumers and keeping them involved and in tune with every important social, health and environmental move.
GreenPAC
GreenPAC exists to address the most serious challenge the environmental sector faces: translating Canadians’ environmental concerns into political action. We tackle this challenge by channeling Canadians' broad but diffuse support for environmental progress toward the election campaigns of specific environmental champions. Our goal is to recruit, nominate, elect, and support environmental leaders across the political spectrum, from all major political parties.
Ontario Nature
Ontario Nature protects wild species and wild spaces through conservation, education and public engagement. Ontario Nature is a charitable organization representing more than 30,000 members and supporters, and more than 150 member groups from across Ontario.
The Ottawa Renewable Energy Co-op
The Ottawa Renewable Energy Co-op provides an alternative for those without the time, money, or space to invest in their own solar power system, and generates a fair return for investors. OREC's projects support local industry and job-creation, expedite Ontario's transition to a clean energy economy, and increase self-sufficiency and resiliency of local communities.
Our Place Initiative
Our Place Initiative is a not-for-profit, grassroots organization that encourages, builds and facilitates civic engagement in our community. OPI aims to facilitate deeper engagement between Etobicoke citizens and their community, by hosting grassroots community events, and advocating on issues that concern Etobicoke residents. Toronto Sustainability Speaker Series
Now in its 10th year, the Toronto Sustainability Speaker Series (TSSS) is widely recognized as Canada’s premiere forum for dialogue and problem solving among sustainability professionals. Each year hundreds of sustainability change agents attend TSSS events to exchange ideas and delve into trends, risks and opportunities that are presented by our shifting business model.
Wildlands League
Wildlands League is a not-for-profit charity that has been working in the public interest to protect public lands and resources in Ontario since 1968, beginning with a campaign to protect Algonquin Park from development. We have extensive knowledge of land use in Ontario and a history of working with governments (provincial, federal, Aboriginal and municipal), communities, scientists, the public and resource industries on progressive conservation initiatives. We have specific experience with impacts of industrial development on boreal forests and wildlife that depend on them, as well as dedicated protected areas establishment and management expertise.
